SOBRsafe utilizes transdermal (touch-based) science to detect alcohol consumption with our SOBRsure band. When a person consumes alcohol, a portion is emitted through the skin. Our technology utilizes an electrochemical sensor to accurately detect these emissions, verifying the absence or presence of alcohol in an individual.

What is Transdermal Detection?

  • The basic transdermal functionality has been validated by over 8o years of research – this is not new science (just an advanced approach).
  • As opposed to invasive testing like breath or blood, transdermal technologies detect alcohol metabolized through your skin.
  • As humans process alcohol, a measurable amount gets released through our pores.
  • Transdermal, or touch-based, solutions can identify the presence of alcohol (“pass/fail”) for use in recovery, family law or teen driver safety.
